Mark Rademaker has joined Ford & Sons Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery & Mausoleum as a pre-need counselor.

Rademaker will graduate from Arkansas State University at Jonesboro soon with a bachelor's degree in sports management.

Rademaker was an all-state pole vaulter at Cape Central High School and a four-year letterman at Arkansas State.

Mary Miller, director of the Cape Girardeau Convention & Visitors Bureau, recently attended the 1995 National Tour Association Spring Exchange at Reno, Nev.

Miller, one of more than 1,600 travel and tour representatives at the meeting, promoted Cape Girardeau as a group tour destination during a special tour and travel exchange. She also attended a number of professional development seminars.

"Tourism is the nation's second largest employer, and the industry plays a big role in our community's economy," Miller said. "With membership organizations like the NTA we can continually improve tourism opportunities in Cape Girardeau."

Dr. Beverly Cleair of Regional Eyecare Center Inc., 1749 Independence, recently attended a three-day seminar on "The Management of Glaucomas."

The seminar, held at St. Louis, was sponsored by the University of Missouri School of Optometry and the Missouri Optometric Association.

The seminar consisted of case presentations, data analysis and applicable clinic patient care.

Cleair has been in practice since 1978.

Anne Foust, owner of the Green Gardens interior plant service, has received her certified Commercial Applicator License.

Foust, a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, established Green Gardens in 1994 to serve the greater Cape Girardeau area's plant trade.

The certification, which follows a course and examination, enables Foust to apply pesticides commercially.

Jackson L. Bostic has joined Accurate Environmental Technology, a Poplar Bluff company that removes underground storage tanks, provides soil evaluation for septic tanks, removes contaminated soil and conducts other services in compliance with Department of Natural Resources.

Bostic previously worked with the department's underground storage tank program.

Shanon Cassoutt and David Long of Crader Tire & Retread Service Inc., 5218 Birk Lane in Jackson, have received certifications from Bandag Inc.

Cassoutt, a retread technician, recently completed a one-week course at the Bandag Training Institute in Muscatine, Iowa, where he received certification as a "Technical Process Manager." The course provided training in all phases of the retread process.

Long, retread manager at Crader, received his certification following a three-day training course at St. Louis. He received certification for "Quality Management and Leadership."

Tom Green of Sikeston is one of four directors elected to three-year terms on the Missouri Soybean Merchandising Council.

Green, who was elected to his second term on the soybean board represents soybean farmers in Southeast Missouri. Green, elected to the council in 1992, is active in crop production in Scott County.

Also elected were Richard Fordyce of Bethany, from northwest Missouri; Paul Steele of Chillicothe in north-central Missouri; and John Scherder of Frankford in northeast Missouri.
