Denise Ernst is the new clinical director for medical and critical-care services for Saint Francis Healthcare System.

In this role, Ernst will plan and direct the administrative and clinical activities of the intensive-care units: medical, progressive care and wound-care therapy.

Ernst has been with Saint Francis since 2011, serving as the patient-care manager for cardiac-intensive care and progressive care. She became the manager of progressive care earlier this year.

Ernst earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Southeast Missouri State University and worked in the intensive-care unit at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis before joining Saint Francis.
