Don C. Bedell of Sikeston, Missouri, recently was reappointed by Gov. Jay Nixon to the Missouri Conservation Commission. The commission protects and manages fish, forest and wildlife resources in the state. Bedell's appointment for a term ending in July 2021 will be subject to confirmation by the Missouri Senate. He is a Republican. Bedell, described in a news release as "a longtime conservationist," has been a member of the commission since 2009 and served a term as chairman. He owns businesses in Sikeston, Missouri, and Batesville, Arkansas, and founded the Health Facilities Management Corporation, a nursing-home management firm. He is a life sponsor in Ducks Unlimited, the release stated, and was the first diamond life sponsor in Missouri for the National Wild Turkey Federation. Bedell also has been a sustaining member of the Conservation Federation of Missouri since 1988 and a life member of Quail Unlimited and Safari Club International. Bedell was inducted into the International Order of St. Hubertus, the release stated, an exclusive worldwide organization for hunters who are wildlife conservationists and respectful of traditional hunting ethics and practices. During Bedell's past six years on the commission, the state has seen record harvests of wildlife and increased participation in outdoor conservation activities, particularly among youth, minority and disabled populations, the release stated.

Green has more than 25 years of local lending experience and has worked for large national banks and small community banks, according to a news release from the bank. First Missouri State Bank of Cape County is chartered in Cape Girardeau County and has assets exceeding $127 million and 40 employees, the release stated. The bank has locations at 2 S. Mount Auburn Road and 800 N. Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau, at 1846 E. Jackson Blvd. in Jackson and inside the Chateau Girardeau Retirement Community at 3120 Independence St. in Cape Girardeau. Green is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking in Dallas and earned a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Missouri-Columbia. His community involvement includes board membership for the Chateau Girardeau Retirement Community and Southeast Missouri Hospital. Green is executive director of congregation for St. Andrew Lutheran Church and a member of the Missouri Bankers' Association, the Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce and the Cape Girardeau West Rotary Club.

The designation certifies Hendrickson, who helps clients buy and sell businesses through the company's affiliation with Murphy Business and Financial Corp., to assist with transactions up to $500 million, or those deemed "middle market," according to a news release. Hendrickson has conducted valuation, buying and selling activities of businesses since 2010.

Troy Mool, general manager of Olive Garden in Cape Girardeau, recently was honored by the restaurant's parent company, Darden Restaurants. Mool achieved Diamond Club status, which recognizes general managers for top performance and "their commitment to delivering guest experiences at the highest level, while making a difference in the lives of guests, employees and in their community," according to a news release. Just 42 general managers from more than 800 Olive Garden restaurants throughout North America received the honor, the release stated.

Brayton "Gus" Klaus, a financial representative at with Northwestern Mutual in Cape Girardeau, recently was honored for performance as a top intern in the country at the company's annual meeting in Wisconsin. Klaus ranked 10th in the country in insurance production among more than 3,500 college interns, according to a news release. He completed an internship in the Cape Girardeau office in May, during which he set an all-time production record. Klaus recently earned a bachelor's degree in finance from Southeast Missouri State University and joined the office as a full-time financial representative, where he creates plans to meet the financial-security needs of individuals, families and businesses, the release stated.

Jana Jateff of Cape Girardeau, a sales director for Mary Kay cosmetics, recently was honored in the company's national court of retail sales in Dallas for the 21st time after producing over $55,000 in personal retail sales this fiscal year, according to a news release. Jateff ranks among the top 2 percent of sellers nationwide and was honored for winning her 20th free car from the company. She has sold Mary Kay products for 32 years.
