Steve Bjelich, Saint Francis Healthcare System president and chief executive officer, has been elected to the elite Healthcare Executives Study Society. The society is one of the oldest voluntary educational organizations available to healthcare professionals and it seeks to advance the state and art of executive leadership and influence the development of healthcare public policy. Membership is by nomination and election by the current membership and continues to include executives from prominent hospitals, systems and association, as well as the senior executives of the American Hospital Association, the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare organizations. Bjelich has been the president and chief executive officer at Saint Francis Healthcare System since 1999.
Linda Suedekum of Cape Girardeau has recently celebrated 25 years of employment with Bennett Family Dentistry. Suedekom joined Bennett Family Dentistry in August 1988 and has worked as a dental assistant and more recently as lab manager at the dental practice. Bennett Family Dentistry is located at 1200 N. Bruce Scheeter, owner of Showcase Taxidermy Studio in Cape Girardeau, was in August presented with taxidermy awards at the 2013 Missouri Taxidermists Association convention in Lake Ozark, Mo. Scheeter won the Best of Category with a bluegill in the fish category and an Eastern wild turkey in the turkey category; the Best Overall Professional categories with an Eastern wild turkey, bluegill, Gray fox and Whitetail deer; and the Taxidermist Choice award in the mammal category with a Gray fox. Scheeter also won the the "Woody" award from Taxidermy Today magazine; the National Wild Turkey Federation award; the Lifetone award; the Research Mannikins Professional award; and the Matuska Competitor's award. Showcase Taxidermy Studio is located at 6830 Highway 74.
