Effective today, DeVonne Glastetter was appointed vice president of mortgage lending at First Community Bank. Glastetter has 25 years of banking experience and extensive community involvement with the Cape County Board of Realtors, Leadership Cape and the Excelsior Optimist Club. Naeter named to sales manager position

Cap America has named Shawn Naeter of Cape Girardeau to the newly created position of national sales manager. Naeter will manage a sales team, work with customers and develop new business. Cap America of Fredericktown, Mo., specializes in promotional headware and has more than 100 employees and a world-wide sales force.

Area managers complete leadership course

Two area hospital managers were among 50 executives who graduated recently from the Missouri Hospital Association Center for Education's Health Care Leadership Series. Kim Fuller of Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau and Terri Geringer of Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville, Mo., took part in the coursework designed to build management skills. The seven-month program included sessions on customer relationships, building a quality work force, hospital budgets and finance, among other topics.

Sharrock joins physical therapy group

Christin Sharrock joined the staff of Select Physical Therapy in Cape Girardeau in January. She is a certified personal trainer, a yoga and pilates instructor, and a physical therapist assistant.

Houchins is Woodmen rookie of the month

Bob Houchins of Jackson was named rookie of the month by the Modern Woodmen of America's Missouri East Region agency headed by Randy Rainwater of Farmington, Mo. Houchins started working full time for the agency in March. Rookie of the month is a designation for a representative who has beeen with the company less than three years and is leading the region in production.

Jackson man named securities sales leader

Leonard "Fritz" Sander Jr. of Jackson was named 2007 securities sales leader for New England Financial at a company banquet in St. Louis. Sander, owner of Sander Financial Services, has been in the financial services industry for 19 years with New England Financial. New England Financial is an affiliate of MetLife Inc. Sander is a member of New England Financial's Leader's Association and a member, past executive board member and past president of the River Heritage Association of Financial Advisers.

Pulley earns certificate in fabrication training

Christopher Pulley of Davis Glass Co. Inc. recently received his certificate of completion for the Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies' steelcraft shop personnel training in Cincinnati. Pulley has worked for Davis Glass since July. The classes taught techniques for fabricating hollow metal doors and frames.

Cracraft honored for service of 20 years

The Center for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery recognized Rita Cracraft of Cape Girardeau for 20 years of service. Cracraft began her career at the dental practice operated by Dr. Jay Sheets in April 1988 as office manager, changing roles to be surgical assistant when Dr. Randy Begley joined the practice in 2003. She was recently promoted to the post of implant coordinator.

Schnurbusch recognized by hospice group

The Missouri Hospice and Palliative Care Association presented Vickie Schnurbusch, patient care coordinator for Southeast Hospice, with the Heart of Hospice individual award, recognizing efforts that go beyond the call of duty enhancing the quality of life for hospice patients. Schnurbusch, patient care coordinator since 1996, was nominated by Southeast Hospice staff members for her dedication to patients and their wishes for a quality end to their lives.

Cape native takes sports foundation position

Cape Girardeau native Patricia A. Washington, former managing editor of the St. Louis American and press secretary to former St. Louis mayor Freeman Bosley, has joined the St. Louis Gateway Classic Sports Foundation as vice president of public relations and development. Washington founded On Point! Communications in 2001 to work with not-for-profit organizations in marketing and public relations. In her new job, Washington will manage the foundation's public relations, work to increase donor support and strengthen community partnerships.

Wibbenmeyer named independent director

Sue Wibbenmeyer of Cape Girardeau was named an independent director for BeautiControl, a company offering party-plan direct sales of personal care products. Wibbenmeyer was named to the position as a result of her sales, team-building and leadership, said Melissa Brisbois, executive vice president of BeautiControl, in a news release.
