Belladona Salon and Spa recently hired several stylists at its Park West Centre location, 201 S. Mount Auburn Road, Suite F. They are Lori Hafele, Barb Hammers, Erica Bethune, Jamie Suhre and Kasey Billingsley.
Kelly Darby of Jackson, a financial representative with Modern Woodmen of America, was named Rookie of the Year in the Missouri East Region for 2011. The honor is given to a full-time representative who has been with Modern Woodmen of America for fewer than three years and is leading the region in production. Darby joined Modern Woodmen's Rainwater Region in Farmington, Mo., in November 2010.
Ken Volkerding of Jackson, a financial representative with Modern Woodmen of America, was named Life Leader of the Year in the Missouri East Region for 2012. Volkerding joined Modern Woodmen's Rainwater Region in Farmington, Mo., in November 2004.
The Printing Co. recently created a position and welcomed new employees to its staff. Amanda Hill from the company's graphic design department has accepted the position of marketing coordinator and will work from the Cape Girardeau office. Robby Rosenquist will fill Hill's previous position as a graphic designer. He brings 15 years of design experience. Rosenquist has worked on projects for a variety of local, regional and national clients. Rita Martin has been added as account representative at The Printing Co.'s Farmington location.
Thomas Meyer of EXIT Realty -- Thomas Meyer Associates of Cape Girardeau was named to EXIT Realty Corp. International's list of its top 100 real estate professionals for both closed transaction sides and gross closed commissions earned for 2011. Meyer is the president and owner of the company. He has been licensed since 1970.
An article by Dr. Santaneel Ghosh, a Southeast Missouri State University assistant professor of physics, recently was published in Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, a scientific journal focused on advanced drug and gene delivery systems. The article, "Role of engineered nanocarriers in axon regeneration and guidance: current status and future trends," demonstrates the role of smart nanostructures in the development of approaches for treating central nervous system disorders. It also describes the research findings of Ghosh and his co-workers that have developed over the last four years.
