Thomas Parks was sworn in as the new postmaster of Jackson on Thursday.
Nicholas Burger, commercial banking relationship manager for U.S. Bank at 325 N. Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau, was named a Leader of Tomorrow by the bank.
Leaders of Tomorrow is a 12-month program that recognizes up-and-coming leaders within U.S. Bank. The class of 2014 was made up of 10 individuals, one representing each community banking division within U.S. Bank's 25-state region.
Burger began working at U.S. Bank in 2010 as a credit analyst.
Drs. Bert and Mary Ann Kellerman of the Kellerman Foundation for Historic Preservation in Cape Girardeau received a 2014 McReynolds Award by the Missouri Alliance for Historic Preservation for ongoing commitment to preservation.
The Kellermans established the not-for-profit foundation to support historic preservation, especially in Southeast Missouri, in 2012.
Their most recent project was the restoration of the Oliver-Leming House in Cape Girardeau, home of the Missouri state flag.
