The board of directors of Love in the Name of Christ has announced the appointment of John Drake McGowan as chief executive officer. He brings experience from previous work at Metropolitan Employment and Rehabilitation Services Goodwill and most recently as a director with United Way to the position. McGowan recently completed the requirements for his masters degree in not-for-profit management.

Dr. Michael Givens recently completed a 100-hour postgraduate certification course in the diagnosis and treatment of whiplash injuries. This postgraduate program provides cutting edge clinical information for the diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of injuries from motor vehicle accidents.

Eakin and Estrada promoted at Big River Telephone

Big River Telephone recently promoted James Eakin and Jahir Estrada. Eakin was promoted to network operations manager. In 2008, Eakin began with the company in provisioning, and quickly became a supervisor within that department. In 2011, he was promoted to network operations engineer. Estrada joins the network operations team as part of network operations support. He started with the company in 2009 as advanced technical services. Estrada has a master's degree in network and communications management.

Leine joins Banterra Bank staff as assistant senior banker

Banterra Bank recently welcomed Daryl Leine as the new assistant senior community banker and commercial lender for Banterra Bank's Missouri Region. He comes to Banterra with more than 20 years of banking experience in the Southeast Missouri region.

Chateau Girardeau hires Klueppel as program director

Cheryl Klueppel recently joined Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau as director of program services. She brings 20 years of experience in health care and not-for-profit organizations including the American Red Cross, the Alzheimer's Association, home health, hospice and long-term care. Klueppel will be responsible for social services in independent and assisted living; serve as a liaison between residents and services; develop volunteer and support programs; and be involved in community relations. She has a bachelor's in social work from Murray State University and a master's in social work from St. Louis University.

Prudential announces additions to staff

Prudential Bridgeport Realtors recently announced the addition of several sales associates to their office: Jane Clark with 27 years of real estate experience; Karen Mogelnicki with 34 years of real estate experience; Kyla Bergmann with 10 years of real estate experience; Kyle Owens with 33 years of real estate experience; Sandy Minter with 26 years of real estate experience; Sue Britton with 37 years of real estate experience; Terry Smith with two years of real estate experience; and Sarah Garner with two years experience.

Coles receives Owners of the Year award

Bill and Susan Cole, brokers and owners of Realty Executives of Cape County in Cape Girardeau, were presented the Owners of the Year award by Realty Executives International. The award is given to only one of the more than 750 franchise owners throughout the nearly 47-year-old international real estate franchise company. The Coles were recognized for increasing their sales more than 26 percent in 2011, increasing the number of sales executives by 8 percent, and opening a new office location in Jackson. They have a residential market share of 40 percent.
