Jennifer Hendrickson, business broker and owner of Murphy Business office in Cape Girardeau, recently earned the designation of Board Certified Intermediary from the Murphy Business company.

The designation is an industry recognition for skills, tenure and success in valuing businesses and serving as an intermediary between buyers and sellers of businesses, according to a news release.

The designation requires coursework, reaching educational and experiential milestones, attending conferences, securing letters of reference, transacting in several million dollars of business and passing an exam.

Hendrickson also was awarded the Multi-Million Dollar Producer Award for her work in 2014 at the Murphy Business annual conference in Clearwater, Florida, for surpassing a total transaction value of $2 million.

Missouri Farm Bureau insurance agent Scott Mainord Jr. of the Scott County Farm Bureau in Benton, Missouri, recently achieved membership in the company's Annuity Premium Pyramid, which requires performance as a top agent, according to a news release.

Mainord received the honor at the company's annual All Star Sales Conference earlier this month in Branson, Missouri.

Capt. Dean Lynn of the Cape Girardeau Fire Department was honored for more than 33 years of service to the city before his retirement March 6.

Lynn began working for the fire department in November 1981.

The Cape Girardeau City Council recognized his service during its March 2 meeting, according to a news release.

Brandy McIntire and Ed Groves recently were appointed to the United Way of Southeast Missouri's board of directors.

McIntire, an account executive for Fox 23/MY 49 and Sinclair digital solutions, served as the organization's campaign chair in 2014 and has supported numerous fundraising events, according to a news release.

Groves, general manager of KBSI, a FOX station under Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc., has more than 25 years of experience in the broadcast industry and has been a supporter of the organization.
