Hematologist/oncologist joins Southeast Missouri Hospital

Krishnamohan R. Basarakodu (Dr. Krishna) has joined the medical staff at Southeast Missouri Hospital and Hematology-Oncology Associates of Southeast Missouri Hospital. He joins Robert K. Oldham, Roberto Martinez, M.D., and Celia L. Chan in the practice of Hematology-Oncology. Hematology-Oncology Associates is in Southeast Medical Plaza, 1723 Broadway. He completed an internal medicine residency at Wayne State University in Detroit and a fellowship in hematology-oncology at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He is board eligible in medical oncology and hematology. Before coming to Cape Girardeau, he was a member of the medical staff at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, Mich.

Pobst named director of business development

Element 74 Web Design has hired Justin Pobst as director of business development. Pobst has a bachelor of science degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance from Southeast Missouri State University. He brings more than eight years of experience in the banking sector throughout Southeast Missouri. His primary role will be new client acquisition as well as working with a newly developed division of Element 74 that specializes in web-based software applications for the financial and banking industry. Pobst, his wife Meredith and their two children live in Jackson.

Cassady promoted to assistant vice president at bank

Everett Cassady, loan officer at First State Community Bank, has been named assistant vice president at First State Community Bank in Cape Girardeau. Cassady also is active in the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce, the Cape Noon Optimist Club and is helping to organize an American Red Cross blood drive at the bank.

Maxim Healthcare Services has named Matt Johnston as accounts manager for the Cape Girardeau office. With two years experience with Maxim Healthcare in the Kansas City area, Matt is transferring to Cape Girardeau to manage the sales and recruitment operations of the Cape Girardeau office, 3065 William St., Suite 101. He is a 2006 graduate of the University of Kansas with degrees in political science and history.

O'Dell awarded certificate in workf orce development

June O'Dell, president and chief operationg office of Workforce Investment Board, 760 S. Kingshighway, Suite C, has been awarded the Certified Workforce Development Professional (CWDP) credential by the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals. The CWDP program is administered and endorsed by the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals. NAWDP is a national association for individual practitioners in the work force development profession, with more than 4,000 members.
