Dr. Susan Gonders, a professor of mass communication at Southeast Missouri State University, has been selected to co-chair the international Certification in Education for Public Relations Subcommittee for the Public Relations Society of America. Gonders is co-chairing the CEPR Subcommittee with Judith Bogart, former public relations director for Young & Rubicam and vice president for public relations with Jewish Hospital of Cincinnati, Ohio. Bogart has co-chaired the CEPR subcommittee for many years. Gonders replaces Laurie Wilson of Brigham Young University as the educator co-chairwoman.
Dr. Glen E. Cooper, an occupational medicine physician, has joined the staff at Saint Francis Medical Center. He will work with Saint Francis' Services to Business, a program serving employers throughout the area. He last served as medical director of occupational medicine and medical director of employee health at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Mo.
Dr. David E. Melchior of Perryville, Mo., has been appointed to the Missouri Hospital Association Board of Trustees. His one-year term began Jan. 1. As a member of the MHA Board of Trustees, Melchior's responsibilities include overseeing the administration of MHA and developing association policies. Melchior practices at the Perryville Family Care Clinic and is affiliated with Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville. MHA is a not-for-profit association in Jefferson City that represents 141 Missouri hospitals.
Three members of the Missouri cotton industry have been elected to leadership positions in the National Cotton Council for 2007, including Charles Parker of Senath, who was re-elected Missouri chairman of the NCC's American Cotton Producers. Elected as NCC's Missouri unit officers were David Blakemore, a ginner with B&B Cotton Company, Campbell, chairman; Steve Droke, a Sikeston producer, vice chairman; and Parker, secretary. The cotton industry leaders were named to their posts during the recent NCC annual meeting in Texas.
Leonard "Fritz" Sander Jr. of Jackson was honored recently at the St. Louis New England Financial's annual recognition banquet as the Securities Sales Leader for 2006. He is a member of the New England Financial Leaders Association. Sander is a current executive board member and past president of the River Heritage Association of Financial Advisors.
