Landmark Hospital of Cape Girardeau LLC has named Rodney Brown as chief executive officer. Brown previously served as Landmark's chief clinical officer. Brown has extensive experience both as a clinician and business manager. In his new role, he will be responsible for the overall operations of the hospital including but not limited to ensuring quality service, improving processes and managing costs. He is a member of the Missouri Organization of Nurse Leaders. Landmark Hospital, 3255 Independence St., is a long-term acute care hospital with 30 patient beds. The hospital opened in February 2006 and will be soon be celebrating five years of service to the community.

Dale now Southeast ER manager

Julie Dale has accepted the position of manager of the Southeast Hospital Emergency Department. For the past three years, Dale has been assistant manager for the department. Dale holds a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Southeast Missouri State University and a master of science degree in health care administration from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She is a board-certified emergency nurse and also holds trauma nurse certification. Dale has 10 years of experience in nursing, with nearly five years in professional management. Her experience at Southeast includes serving as nurse manager on medical telemetry and as house supervisor. Within the Emergency Department, she has served as Emergency Department charge nurse as well as assistant manager.

*** Darby named earns rookie honor

Kelly Darby of Jackson was named Modern Woodmen of America Rookie of the Month in the Missouri East Region. This honor is given to a full-time representative that has been with Modern Woodmen for less than three years and is leading the region in production. Darby joined Modern Woodmen in November.

Volkerding earns recognition

Ken Volkerding of Jackson was named Modern Woodmen Representative of the Month in the Missouri East Region for October and November. He joined Modern Woodmen in October 2004.

Hinkebein named financial rep

David Hinkebein of Perryville, Mo., has joined Modern Woodmen of America as a financial representative serving Southeast Missouri. Modern Woodmen is a fraternal life insurance society based in Rock Island, Ill.
