Two earn leadership award at veterans home
The Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau has selected Dennis Todd, head of the purchasing department, and Michelle Schabbing, who works in medical records, to receive the quarterly leadership award. Todd and Schabbing were chosen by their co-workers. Administrator Jan Rau said Todd and Schabbing best demonstrate the principles of the veterans home's "Achieve Global Training Program."
Roth Restaurant Supply Corp. has announced that Gary D. Roth is the vice president of operations. Roth brings with him 30 years of experience in restaurant supply sales. He had been employed by Cape Restaurant Supply since 1985 and prior to that worked for Lohmann Supply Co. The business is at 823 S. Kingshighway.
Bob Krone attended a two-day continuing education workshop at the Doubletree Hotel in Memphis on the latest tools and techniques of digital photography including live model portraiture, product photography and lighting effects, landscape, wedding and sports photography, and the latest Adobe Photoshop CS2 digital darkroom techniques. Krone studied under digital photographer Jay Kinghorn, a certified Adobe Photoshop expert. Krone is an award-winning professional digital photographer and videographer and owner of Bob Krone Photography in Cape Girardeau.
William Brockmire, a financial planner in Prudential's Missouri Agency at 824 Lexington Ave., qualified to attend the prestigious Masters Conference at Marco Island, Fla. Brockmire is among Prudential Financial's managers and sales representatives selected to attend the Masters Conference based on outstanding sales achievement and excellence in customer service.
Gary and John Peters of Peters Heating and Air Conditioning of Cape Girardeau recently attended the Amana President's Club meeting. The meeting was held at the Amana/Goodman corporate headquarters in Houston, Texas. Part of the program included touring the air-conditioning and furnace factories, the corporate logistic center and testing labs. They were invited to the President's Club meeting because of their 28-year relationship with Amana.
Barbara Lyskowski Morgan, who for 23 years worked as a clinical therapist with Community Counseling Center, has joined her husband's practice. James W. Morgan, Ph.D., a licensed psychologist, has been in private practice for 25 years, including 21 years at his location of 225 Independence St. in Cape Girardeau. The couple's practice, Cape Psychological Services, offers individual and couples therapy to clients 15 years and older.
Rep. Nathan Cooper, R-Cape Girardeau, received an award from the Missouri Coroners and Medical Examiners Association for his legislative work on legislation. Cooper was honored for two pieces of legislation, HB-480 and 558, that deal with coroners and medical examiners. HB-480 requires that when a person dies while being transferred from one county to another, while being transferred into the state, while being treated in the emergency room of the receiving facility, or by homicide, suicide, accident, criminal abortion, child fatality or by any unusual suspicious manner, a death investigation must be conducted by a coroner or medical examiner in the county or state from which the person was being transferred. HB-558 requires all deputy coroners and coroner assistants to register with the association after being appointed but before beginning their duties.
