Saint Francis Medical Center has hired two family medicine physicians as Medical Partners at Cape Primary Care. Dr. Victoria Adjovu and Dr. Erica Gibson, have joined the practice at 3004 Gordonville Road, focusing on preventive care and wellness. Adjovu's specialties include hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, preventive medicine and thyroid disease. She received her medical degree from Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago and completed her residency from Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Ill. Gibson's clinical interests include obesity management and weight loss, diabetes management and fibromyalgia. She received her medical doctorate from University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City, Kan. She completed her residency in the University of Kansas Medical Center's Department of Family Medicine Residency Program in Kansas City, Kan.
Saint Francis Medical Center has hired Dr. Duc T. Nguyen, as a medical partner and member of Cape Cardiology Group. He joins Dr. Paul H. Holcomb Jr., Dr. William K. LaFoe and Dr. Clifford R. Talbert. Nguyen's clinical interests include complex peripheral and coronary intervention, catheter-based treatment of structural heart disease and device therapy such as pacemakers and defibrillators for arrhythmia. Nguyen received his medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Mo. He completed his internal medicine residency at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, his cardiology fellowship at the University of Missouri-Columbia, and his interventional cardiology fellowship at Midwestern University in Chicago.
Jessica Mobley of Jackson has been hired as director of marketing by Bill Zellmer, franchisee owner of Buffalo Wild Wings Grill and Bar in Cape Girardeau and five other locations. Her initial emphasis will to focus on local store marketing, charity and brand development and any future brand development. Previously Mobley served as an executive with the Highway 67 Corp. through the Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce and was successful in helping finance the widening of the highway to four lanes between Fredericktown, Mo., to within 10 miles of Poplar Bluff, Mo. She received a bachelor's degree in business management from Hannibal-Lagrange University in Hannibal and is a native of Poplar Bluff. Mobley's new position includes marketing the other nearby Buffalo Wild Wings in Poplar Bluff, Farmington and Sikeston in Southeast Missouri and Carbondale and Mount Vernon in Illinois. Recently, she arranged for the Poplar Bluff Buffalo Wild Wings to host the premiere of "HeadHunters" on the Outdoor TV channel, a series created by Butler County native and SIU graduate Randy Birdsong. She is involved with Southeast Missouri State University and SIU football games, and Buffalo Wild Wings is the official postgame host for the Redhawks. Buffalo Wild Wings is exclusive sponsor of the SIU coach's show. She is also active with local chambers of commerce and numerous schools with Buffalo Wild Wings' "Eat Wings Raise Funds" programs.
Ken Volkerding of Jackson, a financial representative with Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial, was representative of the month in the Missouri East Region for October. Volkerding joined Modern Woodmen in October 2004.
Travis Tyson of Cape Girardeau joined Swinford & Associates Inc., in affiliation with W.E. Walker-Lakenan LLC, in Jackson, as a benefit specialist. He is responsible for group employee benefits, life insurance and Medicare supplement plans.
