Midwest Regional Bank hires Francis as vice president

Former Cape Girardeau banker Robert Francis has joined Midwest Regional Bank as vice president. His primary responsibilities will be marketing and community relations. Francis recently retired from US Bank as president of the Cape Girardeau branch.

Soto elected state Realtor association's vice chairman

David Soto of SOTO Property Management has been elected to the position of vice chairman of the Property Management Section of the Missouri Association of Realtors for 2010. The property management sections purpose is to serve the specialized needs of Realtors and others with an interest in property management, by providing education, improving communication, monitoring legislation and improving the professionalism of the property management industry.

Birthright of Cape Girardeau appoints assistant director

Melissa Sanford has been appointed assistant director for Birthright of Cape Girardeau. She has been with the organization for more than 10 years. Birthright is an emergency pregnancy center at 2633 Hopper Road in Cape Girardeau.

Mary Kay sales director earns 16th company car

Mary Kay sales director Jana Jateff of Cape Girardeau earned her 16th company car. Jateff began her career in October 1982 and became a sales director in May 1984.

Lawyer to join Tenn. governor on trade mission to China

Brian Eftink, who works for Miller and Martin in Chattanooga, Tenn., is joining Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen along with business, technology and health care leaders for a trade mission to China. Starting Oct. 20, the tour will include visits to Beijing and Hong Kong. Eftink is the son of Leon and Mary Jane Eftink of Cape Girardeau.
