Cape man graduates truck driving school
Southern Missouri Truck School has announced the graduation of Terrance McGlothlin of Cape Girardeau from its four-week tractor trailer driving course. McGlothlin graduated with a 91 percent grade point average on Sept. 23.
Caruthersville nurse joins hospice program
Amy Baird, RN, of Curthersville, Mo., has joined the team of VNA Hospice. She will be providing nursing care to terminally ill residents of Southeast Missouri, especially in Dunklin, Pemiscot and New Madrid counties.
Angus association selects local delegates
Paul and Eileen Meier, both of Jackson, and Richard Eggers, also of Jackson, have been elected as delegates to the 119th annual meeting of the American Angus Association. The meeting will be Nov. 18 in Louisville, Ky.
The Meiers and Eggers are members of the American Angus Association, which has its headquarters in St. Joseph, Mo. The annual meeting is held in conjunction with the annual banquet, and the Super Point Roll of Victory Angus Show, held Nov. 16 through 19 during the North American International Livestock Exposition.
Lucas gains recognition from Missouri governor
Tasha Lucas of Cape Girardeau has been selected as the Welfare to Work alumna of the year by the Workforce Investment Board of Southeast Missouri. Lucas will be honored with a special recognition from Gov. Bob Holden at the Governor's Conference, which will be at the Lake of the Ozarks Wednesday through Friday.
Birk joins Cape printing company
Teresa Birk has joined CS Printing in Cape Girardeau. She had been an independent salesperson for AdTek.
