Domian earns Accredited Asset Management Specialist title

Timothy R. Domian of the financial services firm Edward Jones in Cape Girardeau has achieved the professional designation of Accredited Asset Management Specialist. Domian successfully completed the Accredited Asset Management Specialist, Professional Education Program from the Denver-based College for Financial Planning. Those who complete the program, pass a final exam and sign a code of ethics and disclosure form earn the designation. This advanced training offers investment professionals the hands-on information needed to provide comprehensive financial services. Study topics include understanding the asset management process and understanding asset allocation and strategies.

Bryan joins St. Louis firm as director of marketing

Tina Bryan has accepted a position as director of marketing for NewGround, headquartered in St. Louis with additional offices in Atlanta, Portsmouth, Chicago and Toronto. NewGround is an international firm specializing in building, design and branding for retail environments in consumer industries such as financial and health care. While living in Cape Girardeau for the past three and a half years, Bryan operated her own firm, Watermark Marketing. She did public relations projects with the Yes to Gaming committee, Isle of Capri, Old Town Cape and My Daddy's Cheesecake among other clients.

Massage therapist joins Lisa's House of Hair and Sun staff

Annette Stiff is now offering massage services at Lisa's House of Hair and Sun at 2031 Independence in Cape Girardeau. Stiff is a licensed massage therapist with 22 years of experience. She specializes in Swedish massage. Her services are available by appointment.

Clause joins Ford and Sons Funeral Home staff

Dana Clause has joined the staff of Ford and Sons Funeral Home. She recently moved to Missouri from Indiana and will receive her Missouri license as a funeral director and embalmer by the end of February. Clause received her Indiana license in November after graduating from Ivy Tech Community College in 2010. She earned an associate degree in applied science with a focus in mortuary science. She has been in the field for eight years.

Magnus brings experience to teaching position

Southeast Missouri State University recently added new agriculture faculty member Roxane Magnus. She is currently teaching "World Food and Society," "Agribusiness Sales" and "Soils lab" at the university's Sikeston, Mo., Malden, Mo., and Kennett, Mo., campuses. Magnus, who is an entomologist and former contract biologist with Monsanto, received a Master of Science with a major in entomology and an emphasis in genetics from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville. She also has a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts with majors in agriculture and Spanish from Southeast. She specializes in insect scouting and insect management. Previous employers include the University of Missouri Delta Research Center in Portageville, Mo. She is a member of the Entomological Society of America and has been involved in numerous university and community outreach initiatives, including volunteering with the Monsanto Technology Mobile Unit.

Jones sells Elements Salon Spa & Boutique

Madra Meystedt Jones, owner of Elements Salon Spa & Boutique has sold her business after 10 years to Carrie Myers Chester. It is now known as Salon Savvi. All gift certificates for Elements are being honored, Jones said. She said her life has changed direction and she felt the time was right to make this decision. She plans to spend more time at home with her children and pursue other interests. Jones is the mediator and administrator for the Sell It SEMO group on Facebook. She plans to launch a Sell it SEMO website in early February. Jones also now works for Gregory A. Tobin at Missouri Plastic and Hand Surgery one day a week.
