Trucking company holds employee appreciation dinner

Byron L. Lang Inc. recently hosted an employee appreciation dinner, with about 30 employees present. Jack Faries was recognized for his 18 years of dedicated service to the trucking company. Faries retired Dec. 11, 2008. He recorded more than 2 million miles for the company without a single accident. Awards also were presented at the dinner for years of service. Employees who received awards included Kenny Weinrich, 25 years; Tim Tuschhoff, 17 years; Kelly Fluegge, 15 years; Jamie DeBrock, 15 years; Paul Miler, 13 years; Herbie McCutcheon, 13 years; Linda McCutcheon, 13 years; Gary Sander, 11 years; Gary Weber, 11 years; Chris Schaefer, 10 years; Dean Meyr, nine years; Greg Houchin, eight years; Mike Strange, seven years; Danny Neal, seven years; Jeff Proctor, six years; Johnny McCutcheon, five years; Mike Coffee, four years; Glenn Cook, four years; Eddie White, four years; Gary Lathum, three years; Gene Pendergrass, three years; J.R. Cook, two years; and Sean Mitchell, two years.

Employee promoted at local Edward Jones financial office

Tina Roberts has been promoted from a trainee position to branch office administrator at the Cape Girardeau office of Edward Jones financial services firm. Roberts has lived in the Cape Girardeau and Jackson area for more than 40 years. Roberts was promoted after successfully completing the firm's in-depth training program.
