Rice "Pete" Burns Jr. will replace current chairman John M. Thompson on the Southeast Missouri Regional Port Authority board as Thompson retires from the position, according to a news release from the port.

Thompson, of Jackson, is president of the Bank of Missouri.

Burns, of Sikeston, Missouri, is an attorney and partner in the law firm of Burns, Taylor, Heckemeyer & Green. Thompson has served on the board since 1995 and has been chairman since 2013. Burns began serving on the board in 2010. Members are appointed by the Cape Girardeau and Scott county commissions.

Thomas S. Diemer has been named of vice president of quality at Saint Francis Medical Center, which is a new position. Diemer will be responsible for case management, home health, hospice, palliative care, quality improvement, social service and other follow-up healthcare-related services, according to a news release from Saint Francis.

Diemer spent 17 years in private practice before becoming medical director for Saint Francis in 2008. Before he became medical director, he served in various medical leadership roles for Saint Francis. He is board certified in internal medicine and received his medical degree and completed internship and residency at the University of Illinois.

Pediatrician Gary S. Olson has joined Saint Francis Medical Center as a medical partner, and his practice, Olson Pediatrics, has joined the medical center, according to a news release. Olson has been practicing pediatrics in Cape Girardeau for over 20 years and is chairman of pediatrics at Saint Francis. He also served as past president of the Cape Girardeau County Area Medical Society. Olson's medical degree is from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and he completed his internship and residency at Phoenix Hospital.

Keith Boeller was recently named chief executive officer of Cape Retirement Community Inc., which owns The Chateau Girardeau independent and assisted living and nursing facility in Cape Girardeau. Boeller is a certified public accountant and business leader. He is a member of the Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce and a board member of First State Community Bank.

Metro Title in Cape Girardeau has hired Joy Baldwin as vice president and general manager and Julie Duenne as closing agent. Baldwin returns to the company after many years working in real estate and mortgage lending. Duenne has worked in the banking business for over 20 years and has worked as an originator.
