Two named directors of state chamber board
Two Cape Girardeau residents were recently elected to the board of directors of the Missouri Chamber of Commerce.
Kathy Swan, president of JCS/Tel-Link, and John Mehner, president and CEO of the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce, will serve on the board.
Swan currently serves as a member of the education administrative council for the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and is a 1999 graduate of Leadership Missouri, a leadership program conducted by the Missouri Chamber. She is a former vice chairman of the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce.
Mehner is a 1995 graduate of Leadership Missouri and served as president of the Leadership Missouri alumni association from 1999 to 2002. He is a past president and board member of the Chamber of Commerce Executives of Missouri, and as the first chairman of the Missouri Chamber Federation.
Two join St. Francis Fitness Plus team
St. Francis Medical Center recently added two staff members to its Fitness Plus team. Fitness Plus is the new fitness center under construction at the hospital. Michael McKinnis joins the staff as membership coordinator, and Amy Essner will be the membership representative for Fitness Plus. The two will assist people enrolling in membership at the facility before its expected October opening. They also will help with the transition from St. Francis' Universal Health and Fitness Center to the Fitness Plus center.
Buffalo Wild Wings names new manager
Lani Steimle of New Hamburg, Mo., has been named to the restaurant management team at the local franchise of Buffalo Wild Wings. Steimle has been on staff since the restaurant opened in 2002. Her job responsibilities include introducing a series of new menu items, focusing on customer relations and food quality. She is a 1999 graduate of Scott City High School and is the daughter of Mike and Donna Bedwell of Scott City.
US Bank employee receives top award
Cynthia K. Propst, branch manger at US Bank's Jackson office, has received the company's quarterly Pinnacle award. This is the second consecutive quarter Propst has received the award, which is the highest retail employee achievement honor. The Pinnacle award is among the incentive and rewards programs offered to all US Bank personnel. Propst received a commemorative gift at a local ceremony.
Domino's manager nominated for award
Jason Scheel, store manager for the Domino's Pizza on North Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau, has been nominated for the chain's National Manager of the Year award for 2003. The winner will be announced in May. The local Domino's store achieved record sales in 2003 and a five-star rating on a corporate evaluation, which is based on product quality, service and image. Scheel has been a store manager for Dominos for seven years; he has worked for the company for 10 years. He intends to open a franchise in Wisconsin later this summer. The Kingshighway store is owned by Lynn Enterprises Inc. of Cape Girardeau.
Cape Girardeau native joins Realty Executives
Joyce Abernathy has joined Realty Executives of Cape County in Cape Girardeau. She is a Cape Girardeau native and graduate of Central High School, Southern Illinois University and the Realtors Institute. She is a certified residential specialist and a licensed broker in Missouri, Illinois and Georgia. She has 30 years of experience as a real estate agent and is a life member of the Multi-Million Dollar Club.
Perryville native receives accountant license
Rebecca J. Lohmann with Schott & Van de Ven, Certified Public Accountants, has received her license as a certified public accountant. The Missouri State Board of Accountancy awarded the certificate. Lohmann is a native of Perryville, Mo., and a 2001 graduate of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She is one of 11 full-time CPAs on staff at the firm.
Workforce Employment adds to Cape staff
Kathryn Beckham has joined the Workforce Employment Solutions staff in Cape Girardeau. She joined the firm in 1999 and has managed the Farmington and Festus locations and helped recruit job candidates for regional companies. She is one of 20 staffing specialists serving Southeast Missouri. Previously, Beckham worked in broadcast news on the West Coast.
