Finley completes service training seminar

Bud Finley, a member of the service staff at Schaefer Water Centers in Cape Girardeau, has completed the professional service seminar at Kinetico's Service Academy.

Finley, who lives in Chaffee, Mo., participated in an intensive service training seminar conducted by Kinetico, a manufacturer of nonelectric, metered, demand-operated, twin tank water-softening equipment.

The seminar was designed to reinforce previous training and sharpen service skills giving in-depth instructions on new products and new technologies in the water treatment industry.

Thresher appointed Mary Kay sales director

Leslie Thresher has been appointed as sales director of Mary Kay. Thresher lives in East Prairie, Mo., and during a four-month period she and her team built a unit of 30 saleswomen for the company.

Thresher began her Mary Kay career in November 1999. She ranked 20th in the nation for sales at the annual seminar in Dallas in 2002.

Sixteen Genesis drivers presented safety awards

Genesis Transportation Co., which is locally owned and operated in Cape Girardeau, held its 19th annual Safety and Awards Banquet at the Drury Lodge on Dec. 21.

A total of 16 drivers were presented awards by the American Trucking Association and Great West Casualty Co., for a combined total of more than 2 million miles of accident-free driving.

Those receiving awards were: Gus Wischmann of Jackson; David Farrow of Jackson; Gene Maevers of Cape Girardeau; John Loos of Burfordville, Mo.; Dennis Swink of Anna, Ill.; Russell Myers of Zalma, Mo.; Jim Pate of Scott City, Mo.; Roger Bennett of Olive Branch, Ill.; Tom Vandeven of Marble Hill, Mo.; Gary Petzoldt of Jackson; Virgil Null of Cape Girardeau; Bob Mathis of McClure, Ill.; John Crockett of Chaffee, Mo.; Otis Johnson of Parma, Mo.; Henry Winters of Cape Girardeau; and Vernon Davis of Anna, Ill.

Local farmers inducted in Angus association

Rick and Renee Aufdenberg of Jackson have been recently enrolled in the Angus Herd Improvement Records Program of the American Angus Association.

Angus Herd Improvement Records is a comprehensive evaluation program used by registered Angus breeders to help them keep records of reproduction, and growth rate on individual animals. Each year, hundreds of Angus breeders use AHIR records to produce more profitable, efficient Angus seedstock, the group says.

Vice president at Bank of Missouri named

Larry Angle, a longtime area banker, has been named vice president at the Bank of Missouri. Angle will be dealing with consumer loans and indirect auto loans.

Angle, who lives in Scott City with his wife, Lillian, has 42 years of banking experience, 16 of those in consumer lending. Angle has worked for many of Cape Girardeau's banks.
