State Sen. Peter Kinder, president pro-tem of the Missouri Senate, Scott Lipke, state representative of District 157, Jason Crowell, state representative of District 158 and Cape County Commissioner Gerald Jones will be on hand Friday, Sept. 19, to mark the official opening of Saddlebrooke Ridge, a 263-acre residential real estate development owned by Mathes Land Development Co. of Cape Girardeau.

The officials will speak at the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. at the site on County Road 335 off Highway 72, west of Jackson.

"Saddlebrooke Ridge is our sixth residential development," said owner Mike Mathes, "and we are proud of the unique features we can offer here. We have worked very hard to retain the natural beauty of the area.

"Homeowners will enjoy all the benefits of country living -- beautiful scenery, wildlife and plenty of elbow room -- while enjoying such amenities such as a county water supply, 20-foot-wide paved streets, a community lake and playground."

Sixty-nine lots in Phases 1 and 2 are ready for sale and contain tracts from 1.10 acres to 9.95 acres in size.

"Our building covenants will provide that only top quality homes be built here. That will ensure the retention of property values for many years to come," said Mathes. "Saddlebrooke will offer sites for a variety of home sizes, but the emphasis is on quality throughout the development."
