Orscheln Farm & Home Supply Inc., 238 N. Christine, hopes to be in new quarters by the end of the first quarter in 1997.

Orscheln has entered into a purchase agreement with Wolohan Lumber to purchase the Wolohan Lumber & Home Improvement Center building at 120 N. Kingshighway.

"The larger quarters would be more like our prototype store," said Terry Shoenberger, executive vice president and general manager of Orscheln. "Hopefully, we can be in the new location by March 1 of next year."

The company, headquartered in Saginaw, Mich., purchased the property at 120 N. Kingshighway from Riverside Building Supply and Home Centers, which operated a lumber company for more than 85 years before closing in October 1989.

Orscheln, which operates 76 stores in Iowa, Minnesota, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Missouri provides a number of products, including farm goods, feeds and pet supplies; Bass Pro products; lawn and garden equipment, hardware and plumbing supplies, and clothing.

Orscheln recently opened an operation at Sikeston. The company purchased the former Homestead Farm and Home Store at 1401 E. Malone.
