Schlotzsky's Deli opens in Lorimont Place
Schlotzsky's Deli opened its first Southeast Missouri location in Cape's Lorimont Place. The restaurant franchise, with more than 400 outlets, serves a variety of deli sandwiches, individual-sized sourdough pizzas, soups and salads.
The deli specializes in an "original sandwich" based on the muffuletta-style sandwiches available in New Orleans French Quarter. The restaurant offers dine in, carry out and patio dining.
Through the Years antique store opens in Jackson
Through the Years antiques store has opened in Jackson. It is located at 125 W. Main Street, near the back entrance to Sander Hardware. The owners are Kathy Green, Leigh Ann Green, Sharon Smith and Elsie Peetz.
First State Bank in Mounds changes leadership
Mark Talley retired as president of First State Bank in Mounds, Ill., and Bob O'Daniel has been named bank president. He has been employed with First State Bank for 11 years.
Sikeston native opens home inspection business
Tom Harmon, formerly of Sikeston, will open Homebuyers Inspection Inc. Aug. 21 at 1339 Copper Drive.
Harmon previously worked as a building contractor before becoming a building inspector and moving to Southeast Missouri.
Inspections include checking the following: structural components, exterior, roofing, plumbing, electrical, heating, central air conditioning, interiors, insulation and ventilation. Other services include testing for asbestos, radon gas, lead paint and carbon monoxide.
All inspections will be in accordance with standards set by the American Society of Home Inspectors Inc., Harmon said.
New chiropractic practice to open in Cape Girardeau
Dr. Micheal Anderson will open a new practice at the Kessinger Clinic of Specific Chriopractic in Cape Girardeau. Anderson, a specific chiropractor who specializes in brain stem procedures, is a recent graduate of Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis.
He is one of only 500 doctors trained in specific chiropractic care.
Anderson received his unjdergraduate degree at Towson State University in Baltimore.
He is also active in power lifting competitions and is currently training for the Central USA. Open, ad drug-free competition in Cape Girardeau. Anderson also holds two state collegiate national titles.
