JACKSON -- The Way Books & Gift Shop is under new ownership.
Vickie Rinehart and Beverly Nelson have purchased the business from Judy Leist and Joyce Ross.
The Way, which features a variety of books, Bibles, gifts and Christian literature, along with coffees and special types of tea, was founded 18 years ago and moved to 110 S. High in 1992.
A grand re-opening is planned for Aug. 24, from 1 to 5 p.m. No sales will be allowed during the re-opening, but visitors may preview the gifts, books and other times, which also include collectible items such as Precious Moments and Cherished Teddies.
The new owners also plan to purchase items from local artists and crafts people to be included in the gift section.
Nelson, recently retired city collector at Jackson, will be the new store manager, assisted by her daughter and new business partner, Rinehart. Rinehart is an insurance sales representative with Farm Bureau Insurance Co.
Ann Vinyard, a part-time employee, will also assist in the operation of the shop.
The store closed Wednesday, and will remain closed for inventory and re-stocking, until the open house. The store will reopen for business Monday, Aug. 25. Business hours will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
