MARION, Ill. -- A major manufacturing facility is considering a move to Marion, Ill., according to Mayor Robert Butler.

Butler told the Marion City Council last week that a company, which remains anonymous, is considering three sites in the Marion area for a new 200,000 square foot manufacturing plant that would employ 350 people.

The same company is also looking at sites in Tennessee and Kentucky.

Tom Wimberly, executive director of the Regional Economic Development Corp., and other officials met with city council in closed session to go over details of the city's proposal to the company.

A decision should be made soon.
