Kwik Pantry will move across the street.
The convience store-service station that offers gasoline, sodas, beer and liquor, and grocery items will move from the southwest corner to the southeast corner of Independence and West End Boulevard.
The official address Tuesday will be 10 S. West End. Blvd., said Linda Tollison, manager of the operation.
The new site means more room for Kwik Pantry.
"We'll have a lot more space," Tollison said. "We'll offer a full-time deli, with tables and chairs and a drive-through window."
Kwik Pantry, owned by F.F.P. Operations of Dallas, Texas, has been at its site since 1987. The store is one of two Kwik Pantry operations in Cape Girardeau. F.F.P. operates 21 stores in Missouri, including Sikeston and Poplar Bluff.
The new store, about 3,000 square feet, will offer the same hours, 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week. The store will double its employees, from five to 10.
The new Kwik Pantry was previously a Cutmart convenience store operation.
The building, constructed in 1989 as Cutmart 1776, was designed as the Cutmart company's flagship.
The one-story structure has been vacant for a number of years.
