Brick Street Gallery Antiques in new locationBrick Street Gallery Art Antiques and Creative Designs has moved into new quarters in downtown Cape Girardeau.

The new business opened Friday at 19 N. Spanish St., in a building which formerly housed Save-A-Lot Grocery, which moved to the intersection of William and Sprigg. Brick Street is a cooperative effort of John and Jerrianne Wyman and Keith and Rosetta Colley. Rosetta Colley will manage the operation.

The operation includes between 40 and 50 booths, which feature antiques and collectibles. Brick Street opened more than two years ago at Sikeston and moved to Cape Girardeau last year.

The store is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and will remain open Friday evenings until 8 p.m.

Some special events -- auctions and special sales -- are being planned for the business.

The Renaissance Shop has opened at 334 N. Main Street in downtown Cape Girardeau.

The new business, owned by Mike and Sherry Yaeger of Jackson, Mo., is a romantic home decor gift shop, with some emphasis on art by Sherry Yaeger.

The business will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, but will remain open Mondays during the holiday season.

Among offerings are cards, candles, bath and body home and garden accents.

Sherry Yaeger, who has produced a number of art prints for "Romantic Homes" magazine, has also introduced a series of her artwork, entitled "The Letter," which is available at the shop.

Renaissance held its grand opening recently. Martha Short was winner of a Sherry Yaeger limited edition print during opening.
