Robert Puckett of Chaffee, Missouri, was employee of the month for September at Mondi Jackson LLC. Puckett, a lamination operator, has been with the company since August 2006. Mondi Jackson also recognizes the following employment anniversaries: David Stoll, 25 years of service; Randy Lichtenegger, 10 years; and Maik Hach, five years.
__CAPE CHAMBER ANNOUNCES PROMOTIONS, NEW HIRES__
On Sept. 1, Shad Burner and Kim Voelker stepped into new roles at the Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce. After two years as the chamber’s business development specialist, Burner is serving as vice president of business development. Likewise, after more than three years as membership development specialist, Voelker became vice president of community development. Burner will work alongside John Mehner, president of the chamber, on business recruitment, business retention and workforce-development issues. Voelker will continue working with initiatives such as the Women’s Network and Leadership Cape, plus carry out some business-retention efforts, “especially in areas she has expertise, like finance and not-for-profit,” Mehner said. Additionally, Dana DeBrock joined the chamber on Sept. 15 as membership and event specialist after three years as a financial-services representative at First Midwest Bank in Cape Girardeau. She will work under Voelker and primarily be responsible for membership recruitment and implementing a full membership retention plan, Mehner said, and having primary responsibility for chamber events. DeBrock will work closely with the chamber’s new office manager and member-relations specialist, Michele Litzelfelner, who joins the team after serving as development officer with the SoutheastHEALTH Foundation and after a 20-year career in the banking and finance industry in Cape Girardeau. The staff is rounded out by bookkeeper Wilma LeDure, membership coordinator Lori Trepasso and Janice Voss working in the capacity of the MAGNET.
__MOTHES EARNS CFP DESIGNATION__
Cheryl Mothes, a financial planner at Edward Jones in Jackson, is now a certified financial planner professional, a designation conferred by the CFP Board, a not-for-profit organization based in Washington, D.C. Mothes received the certification after fulfilling extensive education requirements, passing the standardized national examination process, demonstrating work experience and completing the ethical requirements. CFP professionals also must meet ongoing continuing education requirements and uphold the CFP Board’s “Standards of Professional Conduct,” according to a news release.
__DUST HONORED BY MISSOURI GOVERNOR__
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Ed Dust, director of the City of Sikeston, Missouri, Department of Economic Development, was among those honored as outstanding Missouri leaders in business, community engagement and economic development at the 2016 Governor’s Conference on Economic Development in Kansas City. Dust was presented with the Governor’s Career Service in Economic Development Award by Gov. Jay Nixon and Department of Economic Development Director Mike Downing. Dust, who has 44 years of experience in economic development, has been director of economic development for Sikeston for the past 12 years.
__BERGKOETTER JOINS DELTA VET CLINIC__
SIKESTON, Mo. — Dr. Fran Bergkoetter is a new veterinarian at Delta Veterinary Clinic in Sikeston, the Sikeston Standard Democrat reported. She grew up in Okawville, Illinois, and completed the pre-veterinary program at Southeast Missouri State University. She earned her veterinary degree from the University of Missouri Veterinary School and began working at Delta Veterinary Clinic in May. She joins Dr. Brian Heuring, who has worked at the clinic since 2008.
__DAUGETTE JOINS BOLD MARKETING__
Cassaundra Daugette joined BOLD Marketing in Cape Girardeau as a content director. She will lead content generation for BOLD, lending her experience in academia and creative writing expertise to campaign, social media and digital platform content development, according to a news release. Daugette, a native of Southeast Missouri, received her master’s degree in English — professional writing from Southeast Missouri State University. She previously worked for the State Historical Society of Missouri and the Center for Regional History at Southeast Missouri State University. She also has published creative writing and nonfiction independently.

Kelly Darby of Jackson, a financial representative at Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial, was Life Leader in the Missouri East Region for September.
__ROWLAND ELECTED TO MISSOURI CORN BOARD__
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Allen Rowland of Dexter, Missouri, was elected to the Missouri Corn Merchandising Council board of directors, effective Oct. 1. Rowland began farming in 1974, raising corn, soybeans, wheat and occasionally rice, according to a news release. He is the secretary/treasurer for the Southeast Missouri Regional Water District and previously served eight years on the State Farm Bureau board, president of the Stoddard County Farm Bureau and as a member of the county University of Missouri Extension Council. Rowland replaces John Moreton of Charleston, Missouri, on the MCMC board of directors. He will be nominated to the Missouri Corn Growers Association board at the organization’s annual meeting in January.
__TAYLOR EARNS MICROSOFT OFFICE CERTIFICATION__
Theresa Taylor recently earned her Microsoft Office Specialist certification, which includes the programs Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. Taylor is a business teacher at Cape Girardeau Central High School, where she has taught for 15 years.
__HOLLOWAY HONORED FOR 25 YEARS OF SERVICE__
NEW MADRID, Mo. — Kim D. Holloway of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, was recognized for 25 years of service at the New Madrid Power Plant. He came to the plant with years of experience in boilermaking and is the only welder mechanic in the maintenance department. In 1966, he became a journeyman machinist mechanic.

BRANSON, Mo. — Jeff Buchheit of Buchheit Logistics in Scott City attended the Missouri Trucking Association’s annual convention Sept. 21 to 23 in Branson. During the meeting, Buchheit was elected third vice chairman of the association board.

SIKESTON, Mo. — The Sikeston Memorial Municipal Airport changed hands from an independent operation to a city operation and has hired a new airport manager, the Sikeston Standard Democrat reported. Lee Dunn started in the role on Sept. 1. He grew up in the East Prairie, Missouri, area, and earned a bachelor’s degree in aviation management from Southern Illinois University. He has worked on the family farm and as a full-time corporate pilot for a trucking company. He also is a pilot for Floyd’s Equipment Inc.
__WALTERS RECOGNIZED BY FARM BUREAU__
SIKESTON, Mo. — Melissa Walters, customer service representative for the Scott County Farm Bureau, was recognized by the Missouri Farm Bureau for five years of service to the organization. She received a certificate from Blake Hurst, Missouri Farm Bureau president, during the bureau’s CSR Conference Sept. 7 in Jefferson City, Missouri.
