__DELISLE, BARNWELL ATTEND CORONERS CONFERENCE__

NEW MADRID, Mo. -- George DeLisle, New Madrid County coroner, and Ralph Barnwell, deputy coroner, attended the Missouri Coroner and Medical Examiner Conference April 6 to 8 in Jefferson City, Missouri. They learned about new technology used at death scenes and attended classes for death investigations, courtroom investigative protocols and investigating auto crashes. DeLisle also attended classes for a week at the St. Louis University Medicolegal Death Investigator Course.

__LIMBAUGH RETURNS TO MONTGOMERY BANK__

James P. "Jim" Limbaugh will rejoin the executive team at Montgomery Bank on Aug. 1, according to an announcement from the bank. Limbaugh's new position will be as executive vice president, also serving as a regional president for the Cape Girardeau area and as the bank's lead business development officer. He previously worked as executive vice president of planning and business development at SoutheastHEALTH, also serving on Montgomery's board of directors. Before his stint at SoutheastHEALTH, Limbaugh served as a top executive at Montgomery from 2000 to 2009 and worked as president and CEO of Boatmen's National Bank of Cape Girardeau from 1983 to 1996.

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Dr. Mairead Ryan-Anderson, a chemistry instructor at Three Rivers College, received a Governor's Award for Excellence in Teaching at a Missouri Community College Association luncheon. Ryan-Anderson earned a bachelor of science degree and a Ph.D. from the National University of Ireland. She has taught for 32 years. She is the sponsor of the Three Rivers chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the national honor society for two-year colleges. She also is responsible for chemistry lab safety at all the college's sites.

__JACKSON CHAMBER HONORS EDUCATORS OF THE YEAR__

The Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce presented its annual Educator of the Year awards during a May 14 banquet. Awards went to Becky Bockelman for high school; Dee Wren for elementary; Jay Spurgeon for junior high/middle school; Chris Crawford, specialty award; and Larry Cleair of Saxony Lutheran High School, private school award. Each year, the five educators chosen for this award are nominated by a parent, student, principal or chamber member and are unaware of the nomination, said Linda Puchbauer, chair of the chamber's 2015 education committee. Ron Anderson, Jackson superintendent for the past 16 years, also was recognized. He is retiring at the end of June after 50 years as an educator.

__EFTINK ATTENDS DIGITAL MARKETING CONFERENCE__

Toni Eftink, digital project manager at Element 74 in Cape Girardeau, recently attended a digital marketing conference in Nashville, Tennessee. The two-day conference was hosted by email software provider Emma, and included speakers from companies such as SEO Moz, Marketing Profs, Warby Parker and Griffan.

__THREE ATTEND ELECTRIC TRAINING__

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Seth Cote, Grant Lemonds and Colton Woodsmall of Ozark Border Electric Cooperative attended the Overhead and Aerial Basket School at the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives Training Center April 20 to 23 in Jefferson City, Missouri. The course emphasized safe and efficient live line work practices and procedures. Field instruction focused on application of protective insulating equipment, live line tools and aerial devices used when installing and maintaining energized lines and equipment.

__VANDER BOL NOMINATED TO '30 UNDER 30'__

Abbie Jo Vander Bol, who coordinates and supports all activities in and by the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau, was nominated to the inaugural 30 Under 30 Class of 2015, a program of the International Association of Venue Managers. She has worked at the Show Me Center for 11 years. She will be honored at an awards luncheon Aug. 3 in Baltimore.

Allen Morris of Jackson joined Century 21 Ashland Realty in Cape Girardeau. He has a degree in industrial technology with experience in housing design and inspection. In his new role, he will focus on land management.

__YOGA EAST INSTRUCTORS CERTIFIED__

Yoga East Healing Arts Studio in Cape Girardeau celebrated the graduation of nine certified yoga teachers on May 17. The studio is a Yoga Alliance-registered yoga school that serves Southeast Missouri, Southern Illinois and Western Kentucky. The May graduates were the first group of students to complete the 200-hour yoga teacher training program, which ran for 10 months. Completing the training were Sara Augustine, Bryanna Wareing, Tara Lang, Casey House, Sara McNeil, Kara Cracraft, Rose Fox, Pierce Yates and Kelly Hughes. The graduates were led through the program by Judy Grier, Lauren Jones and Robin Drury.

__YODER NAMED DRIVER OF THE YEAR__

Scott Yoder recently was recognized as the 2014 Driver of the Year by Buchheit Logistics. Yoder received the award, according to a release from the company, for an outstanding safe driving record, years of service, quarterly training participation, yearly miles driven, customer service and company/community involvement. Yoder has been with the company since 2011.

__DAMERON PROMOTED AT FIRST MISSOURI STATE BANK__

The board of directors at First Missouri State Bank elected Heather Dameron to serve as vice president and chief credit officer at the bank. Dameron joined First Missouri State Bank in 2003. Her expanded role will include ensuring compliance with bank and regulatory policies and underwriting and approving secondary market mortgage loans.

__MCDERMOTT TO LEAVE CHAMBER POSITION__

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- Doug McDermott, president and CEO of the Farmington Regional Chamber of Commerce, will step down from the role to begin a new job on July 1 as assistant vice president and learning and development officer at First State Bancshares, the Farmington Press reported. McDermott began working at the chamber in 2010 and will continue to advise the organization through the hiring of a new CEO, expected later this summer. The next president and CEO will be supported by operations director Laura Raymer, a former chamber board chair who joined the staff on May 26, and Meagan Trask, who will continue her work with member services and events.

__KOOYMAN JOINS MALDEN CHAMBER STAFF__

MALDEN, Mo. -- Denton Kooyman was hired as executive director of the Malden Chamber of Commerce, the Delta News Citizen reported. He began his new duties in mid-May. He previously worked at Bootheel Youth Museum since 2007.

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- Linda A. Bauwens of Perryville, Missouri, a financial associate for Thrivent Financial in Farmington, recently earned the designation of Retirement Income Certified Professional from The American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.

__CATTLEMEN'S ASSOCIATION ORGANIZERS RECOGNIZED__

Original organizers of the SEMO Cattlemen's Association recently were recognized by the Missouri House and Senate. Ben Eggers, now of Mexico, Missouri; Mark Boardman, owner of Flickerwood Arena; and Mike Kasten of Millersville, officers of the association upon its organization in 1978, were honored by state Sen. Wayne Wallingford and state Rep. Donna Lichtenegger in Jefferson City. A House and Senate resolution also acknowledged May as Beef Month. The resolution was presented to members Eggers, Boardman, Larry Miller and Butch Meier.

__BEGGS ELECTED TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS__

William "Bill" Beggs, a Cape Girardeau farmer and owner of Pioneer Manufactured Homes, was elected to the board of directors of the Missouri Manufactured Housing Association during its annual convention May 4 to 6 in St. Louis.
