MEMO: SPARTECH CORP. ANNOUNCES EARNINGS
Spartech Corp. has announced record sales and earnings for its fiscal year, which ended Oct. 28. Sales for fiscal 2000 were $961.4 million, up 25 percent from the $767.9 million reported in fiscal year 1999. Operating earnings improved to $109.8 million, or 25 percent over the $87.7 million of last year. These increases resulted in record net earnings of $49.98 million, or $1.72 per diluted share for fiscal 2000, compared to $43.1 million, or $1.48 per share reported last year...

Spartech, a producer of engineered thermoplastic materials, polymeric compounds and molded products headquartered in St. Louis, has two operations in Cape Girardeau -- Spartech Plastics at 2500 Spartech Drive and Spartech Compounding on Nash Road.
