MEMO: SOCKET INTERNET'S 12TH ACQUISITION IS MARZ

Socket Internet Services, with headquarters in Columbia, Mo., has acquired Marz Internet Inc.

This is the 12th acquisition for Socket since 1997. The Marz customers will increase Socket's dial-up customer base 14 percent and increase its presence in St. Louis.

Marz Inc., the first locally operated full-service Internet service provider in St. Louis, was a subsidiary of Zimmer Communications Group, consisting of holding in radio broadcasting, telecommunications, television production and marketing.

Socket Internet was established in 1994 and is the largest Internet provider for the state of Missouri.
