MEMO: PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING IN PERRYVILLE

The Southeast Missouri Regional Planning and Economic Development Commission will hold its monthly meeting Tuesday at commission offices at 1 West St. Joseph St., in Perryville, at 2 p.m.

Randal Friend of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development will discuss his agency's Community Facility Loan Program.

Other items for discussion include a couple of grants for the city of Cape Girardeau -- a $750,000 Community Development Block Grant Action Fund grand to assist in the location of Renaissance Air to Cape Girardeau, and a $338,656 grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation for the Mississippi River Walk, which will include a 12-foot-wide concrete walkway along the floodway in downtown Cape Girardeau.

The commission will also hear a report on action taken by the Southeast Missouri transportation Advisory Committee to establish 10 priority need for highway improvement for the years 2004, 2005 and 2006.
