The Cape Girardeau Outpatient Surgery Center, 1429 N. Mount Auburn Road, has been awarded the certificate of accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Amublatory Health Care Inc. (AAAHC).
"We're pleased land proud top have achieved accreditation," said Stephanie Husted, surgery center administrator.
In order to achieve accreditation, the surgery center had an extensive on-site survey of its facilities and services. The survey teams evaluated all aspects of patient care.
The care means that the local center has met nationally recognized standards for quality health care set by the AAAHC.
The Cape Girardeau center was founded by Dr. Richard L. Kies in 1994. In 1999, the surgery center, in conjunction with Kies Eye Center, expanded services hen it started providing Laser Vision Correction Surgery.
