Ameren Corp. has reported record third-quarter earnings, of $256 million, or $1.87 per share, up three percent over earnings of $250 million or $l.82 per share, of a year ago.
Ameren earnings for the nine months ended Sept. 30, 2000, were $431 million, or $3.14 per share, up 10 percent over nine-months earnings of 1999.
Ameren serves 1.5 million electric customers and 300,000 gas customers in Missouri and Illinois.
Affecting revenues during the third quarter was an estimated $20 million credit that the company expects to pay its Missouri retail electric customers under the alternative rate regulation plan of the year ending June 30, 2001, and $10 million credit it is expected to pay its Illinois retail electric customers.
