Lecture, exhibit planned on deindustrialization

"Deindustrialization of America" will be the subject of a lecture and exhibit on the Southeast Missouri State University Campus. Dr. Eric Clements, associate professor of history, will present the lecture at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the John and Betty Glenn Convocation Center. His lecture, "Cold Iron: Deindustrialization and the art of Cindy Tower" is being held in conjunction with an exhibit of Tower's work at the Rosemary Berkel and Henry L. Crisp II Southeast Missouri Regional Museum.

Counseling sessions for small businesses offered

The Small Business Development Center of Southeast Missouri State University is offering counseling sessions for area small businesses. All sessions are by appointment. Counselor Gil Degenhardt will be at the Sikeston, Mo., Chamber of Commerce, 1 Industrial Drive, from 9 to 11 a.m. April 15. For an appointment, call 573-471-2498. He will be at the Southeast Regional Planning Commission offices, 1 St. Joseph St., in Perryville, Mo., from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. April 17. For an appointment, call 573-547-8357. He will be at the Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce, 1267 N. Mount Auburn Road, from 1 to 3 p.m. April 17. For an appointment, call 335-3312.

Publicity class planned by university extension

The Small Business Development Center of the University of Missouri Extension Service will offer a class named "Small Business Publicity Strategies" at 6 p.m. April 28 at the Jackson Chamber of Commerce, 125 E. Main St. in Jackson. Seating is limited. For more information, call 243-8131.
