The law firm of Lichtenegger, Weiss & Fetterhoff LLC will hold a dedication and open house at 4:30 p.m. June 21 for its new office, Main Street Station, at 2408 E. Main St. in Jackson. U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson, R-Mo., will be the featured speaker. Other speakers include the Rev. David Johnson, Jackson Mayor Barbara Lohr and state Rep. Scott Lipke, R-Jackson. Lipke and Thad M. Brady recently joined the law firm. An open house and tours of the building will follow the dedication ceremony until 6:30 p.m. Space is still available for lease in the new facility.

* Hospital to open facility at Lorimont Place: Landmark Hospital will locate a new operations facility at Lorimont Place Ltd., 240 S. Mount Auburn Road in Cape Girardeau. The new office will be 5,415 square feet and on the north end of the 90,500-square-foot corporate development between Doctor's Park and West Park Mall, said Tom Kelsey, commercial broker with Lorimont Place.

Landmark Holdings currently operates three hospitals in Missouri -- in Cape Girardeau, Columbia and Joplin -- and one in Athens, Ga.

The new operations center will provide support services for Landmark Hospitals including billing, purchasing, information services and other administration functions.

Dr. William Kapp is the founder and president of Landmark and also serves as managing partner for Orthopedic Associates of Southeast Missouri in Cape Girardeau.

The new operations center is expected to open at Lorimont Place in July, Kelsey said.

* New dance studio opens: Gift of Dance Performing Arts Studio is now open at 1217 N. Kingshighway, Suite 250. Managing officer NaTika Rowles hopes to make her studio a diverse cultural experience for students age 3 and up. Rowles earned a bachelor of fine arts degree majoring in dance at Missouri State University in Springfield. She has done solo performances and choreography work, and also does dance work with her church, House of Prayer World Outreach Center.

The studio will offer instruction in ballet, jazz, tap and modern dance. Rowles also hopes to incorporate styles such as praise dancing, belly dancing and African dance. This summer she is offering summer camps for children ages 8 to 14 that focus on different styles of dance each week.

Private lessons are available for seniors, couples and children with disabilities.

* New Curves to open in Cape Girardeau: Curves International Inc., the world's largest fitness franchiser, will open its newest Curves facility at 97 N Kingshighway, No. 11, in Cape Girardeau. A grand opening is set for June 21.

* Noranda becomes publicly traded company: Noranda Aluminum Holding Corp. executives rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange Friday in recognition of the Noranda's recently completed initial public offering and listing on the NYSE.

"The completion of our IPO was an extraordinary event in a difficult time," said president and CEO Layle K. "Kip" Smith. "This accomplishment speaks not only to Noranda's track record of success, but to the market's confidence in the collective ability of our 2,300 employees to execute our strategy to create sustainable value."

Noranda's aluminum smelter near New Madrid, Mo., has an annual production capacity of about 580 million pounds, more than 15 percent of the total 2009 primary aluminum production in the U.S.

* Southeast Missouri Hospital receives HealthGrades Award: For the third year in a row, Southeast Missouri Hospital ranks among the nation's best in patient experience, according to HealthGrades, the nation's leading independent health care ratings organization.

The hospital ranks in the top 5 percent of the nation's best hospitals for patient experience for 2010-2011. Southeast also ranks among the top 5 percent of hospitals in the nation for patient safety for the second consecutive year

Southeast is the only hospital in the four-state region of Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky and Arkansas and one of only 23 nationwide to receive from HealthGrades both the Patient Safety Excellence Award for 2009 and 2010 and the Outstanding Patient Experience Award for 2009, 2009-2010 and 2010-2011.

The hospital is one of only 144 nationwide and just one of three in Missouri to receive the Outstanding Patient Experience Award for three consecutive years. It's the only hospital in Southeast Missouri to have earned that distinction.

Southeast ranks in the top 5 percent of the nation's best hospitals for patient experience for 2010-2011 based on patient satisfaction data analyzed by HealthGrades.
