Work to begin on adjacent property

JACKSON -- A commercial development along Highway 61 between Jackson and I-55 is completely occupied. Known as the 2370 N. High St. Center, the building was developed by Oak Enterprises, which is owned by the Farris Nabors family.
According to Tom Kelsey, commercial broker with Lorimont Place Ltd. in Cape Girardeau, who handled the leasing for the development, tenants include Atmos Energy (formerly United Cities Gas), Hebo USA, Old Bavarian Sausage, The Embroidery Barn, Ferrell Gas Co. and Jenny's Styles.
The average lease size for each tenant is about 2,500 square feet. Located in an adjacent building is Jackson Machine Co.
Kelsey said the Jackson center was leased quickly after the exterior of the 15,000-square-foot facility was completed.
"Most of the tenants wanted to locate specifically in the Jackson area in a facility that was easily accessible, highly visible and had high traffic flow," said Kelsey.
Oak Enterprises owns several acres of adjoining property. The company has begun building another multi-tenant building in the 13,000- to 15,000-square-foot range.
Kelsey said his real estate company would also handle the leasing on the new structure. He said lease spaces, with sizes starting at 2,250 square feet, will be finished according to the tenant's needs and specifications.
