__What is your vision for your business and/or your industry in 2012?__
__D. Mitch Robinson, Executive Director:__ The Cape Girardeau Area MAGNET will continue to work with our existing employers to assist with company expansions and seek new manufacturing, service and retail businesses to locate in Cape, Jackson, Scott City or Cape Girardeau County. The organization will see change this year but will keep true to the mission.
__What role does your business play in the betterment of the community?__
__MR:__ Our role as the community's economic development organization is to serve as the focal point for the Cities of Cape Girardeau, Jackson, Scott City along with the Cape Girardeau County Commission to seek and develop new job opportunities for area residents. We have worked with many existing and new companies.
__What do you think is the community's biggest asset from a business perspective?__
__MR:__ Our people!
__Tell us about one or two businesses, colleagues or organizations you work with in the community, and how you have helped one another.:__
__MR:__ We have an excellent relationship with many organizations and businesses in our area. Being based in and supported financially by the Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce, they would be my choice. The two organizations, as well as many others, work jointly on numerous development projects that benefit the community.
__What are some lessons that you learned at a young age that still apply in your business philosophy today?__
__MR:__ Honesty, hard work, treat others as you would want to be treated. This business is about relationships. We have been successful due to these lessons as well as many others. To be successful you have to work well in a group environment and be able to get along with others.
