Three awards were presented:* Regional Spirit Award, given to state legislators from 18 counties covered by the RCGA. Rep. Marilyn Williams of Dudley and Rep. David Schwab of Jackson, accepted the award, presented to a group for contribution to the progress of the region.* Corporate Appreciation Award, presented to Black River Electric Co-op, headquartered at Fredericktown. The award is for a corporation contributing to progress of the region through its business.* John T. Crowe Award, presented to Virginia Heise of Malden. The award, established in memory of the late Dr. John T. Crowe, honors an individual who has created or brought the most innovative idea to the region. Heise was instrumental in the creation of the Bootheel Youth Museum and a shelter for abused women and children in Malden.
