Biokyowa has announced promotions for the start up of its second phase expansion -- Kyowa Foods Division. The company, which produces L-Lysine, will produce nucleotide seasonings for IMP, GMP and WMP, which are used as food additives for human consumption.
BioKyowa Inc. in Nash Road Industrial Park will start production of the food supplements later this year.
Kaksan Kinoshita is vice president of manufacturing of the new division, and Tom Takeshita is treasurer. Kinoshita and Takeshita have transferred from the parent company in Japan and have several years experience in the industry.
Steve Mills of Cape Girardeau, who has more than 16 years experience in the industry, has assumed the position of production operations manager for the foods division. Pat Feeney of Jackson, with 13 years experience, is process superintendent of fermentation and Kent Eastman of Charleston, with 12 years experience, is process superintendent of extraction. Tina Faughn, of Jackson, with five years experience in the biotechnical field, is quality lab supervisor.
Ryan Burger, Bernard Glueck, Michael Hunt and Mark Sprengel have received promotions to shift supervisors. The four team up to provide more than 42 years experience in the industry.
