Chad Green, assistant manager at Taco John's at Cape Girardeau, is winner of a cruise for two to the Bahamas for sales during a 10-week Platters Grande sales promotion.

Taco John's in Cape Girardeau recorded top sales in Taco Johns International's "Platters Grande" promotion.

The Cape Girardeau restaurant was No. 1 in the nation of more than 480 stores in the sales of four new dinner platters, which were introduced during a 10-week promotion late in the year.

Six restaurants owned by HMC Corp. were among the top 10 nationally, in sales, said Tammie Halverson, owner of HMC Corp.

These included Taco John's at Cape Girardeau (1); Mayfield (2); Murray, Ky., (5) and Paducah, Ky., (8); Lone Oak Restaurant at Paducah (6) and Jackson Restaurant in Paducah (8).

Another area Taco John restaurant, at Sikeston, owned by Sonny Platt of Highland, Ill., finished third nationally, in the promotion.

Green won his cruise during a weekly sales contest held in the Cape Girardeau and Paducah markets. Other cruise winners during the weekly contests were Terry McDermott, manager of the Mayfield store, and Beth Verive, assistant manager of the Murray store.
