Ginger Reese and Chance Dowling are among 17 Associated Electric Cooperative Inc. employees who received "Excel" honors recently. "Excel" honors were presented during the Excel Ceremony at AECI Headquarters at Springfield.
Reese, who has been at the New Madrid operations from its beginning, received AECI's highest honor, the "Distinguished Service Award." Reese worked for contractors and engineers building the first building at the site in 1969 and joined Associated in 1978 after the second unit building was completed. He is the administrative services supervisor at New Madrid.
Dowling, assistant control room operator at New Madrid, was named "Employee of the Year" in operational field work.
Dowling, who has been at the New Madrid plant 13 years, check on the components at the plant.
A number of New Madrid plant employees were recognized for length of service. Ray Adkins, yard equipment operation; Lynn Atchley, shift supervisor; Dennis Bailey, material handling supervisor; Clarence Case, electrical maintenance supervisor; John Fourthman, material handling supervisor; George Broughton, journeyman mechanic; Ronnie Sandage, mechanical maintenance supervisor; and Harold Williams, journeyman machinist/mechanic; were honored for 25 years of service.
Recognized for 20 years of service were Kerry Harris, Betty Ruark, Alice Swilley, Linda Copeland, Terry Lee, John Seisure and Russell Rice.
