Janice Unger, administrator of the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, has received the E. Willis Piehl Award of Honor from the Missouri Association of Homes for the Aging (MAHA).Unger received her award during the MAHA Convention, held at Osage Beach, for her commitment and leadership in the field of senior services.
Unger has served as administrator of the Lutheran Home since 1979. She has served on a number of committees and is involved in various aging organizations. She currently serves as secretary of the Missouri Board of Nursing Home Administrators.
Dolores Pobst of the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, was also honored during the MAHA Conference, as "Employee Caregiver of the Year."Pobst, a member of the Lutheran Home staff since 1987, serves as activity director at the facility.
