Roy Shipp has been named manager of Hobby Lobby Creative Center, 207 South Kingshighway.

Shipp, who has been with Hobby Lobby more than two years, was previously a co-manager at the Joplin, Mo. store. He replaces Philip Sante, who retired.

Shipp, a native of Moline, Ill., worked with Venture Stores before joining Hobby Lobby.

Sandy Buchheit has joined Scott City Medical Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Dr. Victor Isaacs announced Buchheit's appointment to the center recently.

Buchheit has extensive educational and occupational experience in health care.

She is a graduate of St. Louis University with a degree in nursing. He has a Masters of Science in Health Care Administration degree from Southeast Missouri State University and a Masters of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She is also certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credential Center (ANCC).

She previously worked at Southeast Missouri Hospital, where she was served as patient care coordinator, assistant director of nursing and director of Southeast Missouri Hospital College of Nursing.

Madonna Fledderman of Jackson has joined Marilyn's Beauty Salon, 125 N. Main in downtown Cape Girardeau, as a hair stylist.

Fledderman, a graduate of Stage One The Hair School in Cape Girardeau, has more than a year's experience in the beauty industry.

Fledderman will take appointsments for Monday.

Dr. Jan Seabaugh and Dr. J. Thomas Critchlow will move to new offices at Lorimont Place.

Seabaugh and Critchlow, currently located in Doctors' Park, will be in their new 3,000-square foott offices by the first of the year. They will occupy space which previously housed HRH Dumplin's Restaurant, which closed recently.

Seabaugh specializes in ears, nose and throat. Critchlow is a general surgeon.

Lorimont Place, a 31,000-square foot professional office/retail development adjacent to West Park Mall on South Mount Auburn Road, is 70 percent, leased said Tom Kelsey, broker and general manager of the development.

Pamela M. Thompson, of Cape Girardeau, a clinical partner/respiratory therapist III at St. Francis Medical Center, has become eligible for registry examinations of the National Board for Respiratory Care following completion of the respiratory therapist curriculum at the California College for Health Science, which offers home study education to health care workers.

Thompson has been employed at St. Francis since 1991.

Gerald L. Nicholson, administrator for Orthopaedic Associates of Southeast Missouri P.C., has been selected for inclusion in the 1997-1998 first edition of "Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare."

Nicholson, who has been in his position since 1991, previously worked in Chicago, Evansville and St. Louis as an administrator, health care business consultant and practice management adviser.

He has also worked with the American Medical Association and a number of state and county medical societies, as well as hospitals and private physicians.

He is past president of the Southeast Missouri Medical Group Manager's Association. He has also been included in "Who's Who in the Midwest" since 1992.

Jim Prowell, executive director of the Carbondale, Ill. Chamber of Commerce, will retire at year's end.

The retirement is the second for Powell, who retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1976. He has served as executive director at the Carbondale Chamber for 14 years.

During his 14 years, Prowell has watched the chamber grow from 134 to 500 members. He helped the chamber find a permanent home at East Gate Shopping Center, ending a string of moves.

A search is under way for Prowell's successor.

Carrol Waldo of Cape Girardeau has been named CASA "Volunteer of the Year" for his work at the Cottonwood Treatment Center.

Waldo, a three-year volunteer, was selected for his statewide award during the annual Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Conference, held at Jefferson City recently.

He was nominated by CASA of Southeast Missouri Inc., the local CASA chapter.

Jack Hill has been named executive director of the Southern Illinois Collegiate Common Market (SICCM), a non-profit corporation offering regional instructional programs and services throughout Southern Illinois.

Hill, of Vienna, previously served as vice president of John A. Logan College at Carterville and president of Shawnee Community College near Ullin.

SICCM is composed of John A. Logan College, Shawnee College, Rend Lake College, Southeast Illinois College, Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and SIU-Edwardsville.
