Rhonda Wessel of Gordonville has joined Regional Eyecare Center Inc., 1749 Independence, as an administrative assistance.
Dr. Beverly Cleair, optometrist and owner of Regional Eyecare Center, announced Wessel's appointment recently.
Wessel, a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a degree in business administration, has 14 years experience in sales and marketing.
The company specializes in eye examinations and complete eyewear selections.
Sherry Baker has joined the maintenance staff at Bent Creek Golf Course at Jackson.
Baker of Jackson served as head golf course superintendent at Kimbeland Country Club at Jackson 27 years.
Baker, a founder and past president of the Missouri Bootheel Turfgrass Association, is a past member of the Mississippi Valley Golf Court Superintendents Association and the Missouri Valley Turfgrass Association.
He served in the Air Force from 1962-1966.
Bent Creek Golf Course was established six years ago.
Ron Allen of Ron's Satellite Products, 253 Sapphire Lane, Jackson, recently attended the Satellite Broadcasting and Communications Association (SBCA) Convention at Las Vegas.
The show highlighted a number of recent developments in satellite TV, including the new small size dish antennas, just 18 inches in diameter, which delivers up to 175 channels; and the "full-view," backyard dish which offers more than 400 viewing choices.
John E. Carpenter, Cape Girardeau County coroner, has been awarded status as a Diplomate, Board Certified Forensic Examiner (BCFE) by the American Board of Forensic Examiners, headquartered at Springfield, Mo.
The BCFE designation recognizes experience and education of people engaged in forensic examinations, and requires extensive training in a variety of topics, procedures and standards.
The BCFE program is nationally recognized by the National Certification Commission.
Linda Springs, Becky Burgess and Karen Van Ells, beauty consultants at the JCPenney Store in West Park Mall, have been named members of Color Me Beautiful's "Golden Circle."
David Meehan, president of Color Me Beautiful Inc., an international cosmetics company, announced the appointment of Burgess, Springs, and Ells recently.
As members of the Golden Circle, the consultants will be offering customers free one-on-one advice, by appointment only, on make-up and wardrobe colors.
Christopher A. Jennings has been named director of the Missouri Division of Tourism.
Jennings, who will start his new duties in June, will oversee the state's $9.2 million tourism promotion effort, managing a 36-person staff.
Jennings, a graduate of Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, previously served as director of the New Hampshire Office of Travel and Tourism Development. He also served as executive director of the New England/USA Foundation in Boston.
Jennings replaces Majorie Beenders, who resigned Aug. 31, after a dozen years as director.

Roger Neumeyer has been named New Madrid Associated Electric Cooperative Power Plant's "Safety Person of the Year," for 1995.
Neumeyer, a chemical lab technician, was selected from 12 monthly selections. He was honored during an annual safety ceremony earlier this month.
Associated Electric provides power to 43 electric cooperatives in Missouri and Iowa, serving more than 1.3 million customers.

Burnett, a graduate from Arkansas State University with a bachelor's degree in finance, has more than six years of experience in commercial lending, most recently with Mercantile Bank of Cape Girardeau.
