Phil R. Ivers has been named president of First National Bank at Cape Girardeau.
The appointment was announced by Troy L. Wilson, chief executive officer of First National Bank, headquartered at Sikeston.
Ivers, a native of Ponca City, Okla., is a graduate of Oklahoma State University.
"He has extensive experience in the commercial arena," said Wilson. "He also has managerial and marketing experience."
Ivers replaces Greg Smith as bank president. Smith left his position in February.
Laura J. Hulcy has joined Notre Dame High School's foundation board as development director.
Hulcy is a graduate of Notre Dame and Southeast Missouri State University, with a bachelor's degree in mass communication.
She previously served as market analyst for the Southeast Missouri Regional Port Authority. Before that, she was a reporter for a Southeast Missouri newspaper.
Her new duties with the foundation will include development, grant writing and student recruitment.
Denita Hartle and Terra Holt have joined the Southeast Missouri Regional Port Authority.
Hartle, new marketing assistant, attended Southeast Missouri State University with emphasis on public relations and marketing. She previously worked with TCI Media Services as an advertising assistant and with Auffenberg Chrysler-Plymouth-Dodge in public relations.
Holt of Benton will serve as manager of finance and administration at the port. She was previously employed by Crop Care Inc. at Benton. She will receive a bachelor's degree in accounting from Southeast Missouri State University in May.
Dawn Roberts, Sherry Tenkhoff and Donna York have completed requirements by the Dental Assisting National Board to receive CDA professional status. Janet Collins has received a professional certificate of Dental Practice Management for CDPMA status. All are staff members of Ruopp & Ruopp, DDS PC.
The CDA program was established in 1948. The Dental Assisting Board designs and administers the tests, which gauge the working knowledge of candidates, who must meet eligibility requirements of education and experience along with an examination of some 300 questions.
Gerri and Walter Stone recently attended the Professional Apparel Association's (PAA) annual spring meeting for retailers in the uniform industry.
Mrs. Stone is the owner of Professional Fashion Uniform, Plaza Way, which offers a full line of professional apparel, including uniforms, shoes and accessories.
Participants at the meeting, held at Marina Del Rey, Calif., previewed the latest in new designs and styles of career apparel.
Iris and Walter Ford of Ford & Sons Funeral Homes in Cape Girardeau and Benton, recently attended the 38th annual conference of the International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR), at the Hilton Riverside in New Orleans.
The conference offers select funeral professionals from around the world an opportunity to meet and share information. OGR members are required to attend educational conferences so they can maintain the standards of excellence necessary for membership in the organization.
The OGR is an association of more than 1,300 independent funeral directors. Members to the organization are by invitation only.
Dan Lynn, owner of the Cape Girardeau Domino's Pizza franchise, has been named "Franchisee of the Year" for the Midwest Region of Missouri for a second straight year.
Lynn received his award during the company's recent awards banquet in Lexington, Ky.
Lynn was also recognized for being a leader in the franchise community and for outstanding product and service."
Dave Dormeyer, co-owner of the Prudential Bridgeport Realtors, recently attended the Prudential Real Estate Convention in Honolulu.
Dormeyer and co-owner Roger Skinner received awards.
Dormeyer presented Prudential Million and Multi-Million Dollar Awards to associates Marilyn Duffey, Ricki Ing, Janet Dalton, Jo Duff, Amy Graff and Marcia Schleuter.
Mike Boswell of Cape Girardeau is the winner of a 27-inch color television in a special promotion by Southeast Missouri Directories of Cape Girardeau.
Boswell's name was drawn from a number of entries submitted by people taking part in the promotion. He received his gift from Arnold Vitek, sales manager of the company.
