Mary Stucker of Cape Girardeau has joined the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce as a part-time employee.
Stucker worked at the Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau for seven years but opted for the part-time position to spend more time with her young children.
Linda Linhart is director of the new Visiting Nurse Association Community Services homecare program.
The Visiting Nurse Association of Southeast Missouri has merged VNA Adult and Pediatric Private Duty Nursing and VNA Community Services into VNA Community Services.
VNA officials say the move will be a more efficient, more cost-effective homecare program.
Linhart, a registered nurse, was formerly private duty coordinator for VNA. In her new position, she will coordinate services such as personal care aides and sitters.
Linehart, a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, is also a graduate of the practical nursing program of the Sikeston school system and the professional nursing program at Shawnee Community College near Ullin, Ill.
Janet Amelunke of Heartland Care & Rehab Center, 2525 Boutin Drive, has been recognized as Nursing Assistant of the Year by the St. Louis Chapter of Alzheimer's Association.
Amelunke, a CNA for more than 16 years, works on the Alzheimer's Unit at Heartland Care. She received a plaque and a certificate for dinner-for-two at a restaurant of her choice, from the Alzheimer's Association at a recent St. Louis banquet. She also received a dozen roses from the Heartland Center.
Candidates were nominated for the honor from 38 counties serviced by the St. Louise Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
Paul Meier of Jackson and Mike Kasten of Millersville each own three bulls listed in the 1997 Fall Sire Evaluation Report, published by the American Angus Association, headquartered in St. Joseph.
The report features the latest performance information on more than 5,200 sires in the state.
Two other groups -- P.S. High Pockets Association and Power Play Associates, both of Jackson, have a bull listed in the report.
Don Stinson and Don Northcutt have retired from the Missouri Department of Transportation's Southeast Missouri office.
Northcutt of Sikeston who most recently served as a transportation project designer, retires after 38 years with MODOT.
Stinson, also of Sikeston, retired after 37 years, most recently served as a senior highway designer.
Rick Sparks, business and industry specialist at the University of Missouri Extension office at Jackson, and Jim Becker, a community development specialist from Madison County, will be guest speakers at a customer service seminar, to be held from 7 to 9 tonight at the Elks Lodge in Jackson.
The seminar is sponsored by Jackson Chamber of Commerce, Missouri Small Business Development Center and University of Missouri Outreach and Extension.
