Pam Scott is the new manager at Famous-Barr in Cape Girardeau. Pam Scott is the new manager at Famous-Barr in Cape Girardeau.

Scott, a native of Rochester, N.Y., has been with May Department Stores Co. more than eight years, as a buyer and divisional sales manager..

She has worked in the St. Louis area the past 2 1/2 years. She was a divisional sales manager at the Plaza Galleria's Famous Barr store before moving to Cape Girardeau.

Scott, a graduate of St. Thomas Acquinas College, taught school for a short while before joining the May Department Store Co.

Debbie Gibson has joined Capaha Bank, 3168 William, as assistant vice president and head teller.

Gibson is one of five new employees at the bank, which opened in Cape Girardeau today.

Others include Julie Duenne and Tina Reinagel, consumer bankers, and Monica Fluegge and Sandy Mangels, in the loan department.

Gibson has more than 23 years experience in banking, 20 with Boatmen's Bank in Cape Girardeau. She will supervise teller and provide service in opening accounts at the bank.

Duenne, a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University in business education, has 10 years banking experience in the area.

Reinagel attended Southeast Missouri State University, and has seven years banking experience, at Amerifirst and Boatmen's.

Fluegge, an assistant vice president in the loan department, has been in banking 13 years, working for Capital Bank and Boatmen's. She is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, in business administration.

Mangels, a loan associate, attended Patricia Stevens College at St. Louis and has seven years banking experience.

Larry Buck has joined Schott Electrical Distributors Inc., 1109 N. Kingshigwhay, as a high-tech sales specialist.

Buck will be responsible for the sales and support of Rockwell Software's industrial software products. Buck has a number of years experience with that line of products.

Helen Porter and Amy Beussink of Orthopaedic Associates of Southeast Missouri, have attended the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation's 1997 practice management seminar and coding and billing workshop, at Phoenix.

Porter, an licensed practical nurse at Orthopaedic Associates, is patient education nurse and education speaker. She has 17 years experience and is a member of National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses and is on the advisory board for the College of Nursing at Southeast Missouri State University.

Beussink, an administrative assistant at Orthopaedic Associates, has nine years experience.

Melvin J. Van de Ven, a certified public accountant with the firm of Schott &I Van de Ven, has completed the certification process with the National Association of Certified Valuation Analyst, earning the designation of CVA.

To become certified by the NACVA, Van de Ven was required to complete a training and testing process. One requirement to become a CVA is that the applicant be a certified public accountant, registered in their state, and be a member of the local CPA Society of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Jerry Welch has been named a "Top 100 Agent" by American Family Insurance.

Welch's production during the 1996 annual All American campaign, placed him No. 51 of more than 3,300 American Family agents.

The award places Welch and his staff, Amy Cain, Vickie Kell and Terri Welch, in the top 1 percent of the company for the year.

Welch will be honored during the All American Convention at Reno, Nev.

John Raymond Perez of Jackson has joined ALTEC Industries Inc., at Kansas City, specializing in industrial engineering and management.

Perez, son of Jose and June Perez of Jackson, is a recent graduate of University of Missouri-Columbia College of Engineering.

While a student, Perez was a member of the Alumni Association Student Board, Chancellor's Leadership Class, Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Institute of Industrial Engineers, Missouri Students Association Senate, University Board of Elections Committee, Greek Link Volunteer, and Sigma Nu Fraternity-Rho Chapter.

Perez was recipient of Chancellor's Leadership Scholarship, the Ellen Kniep Memorial Scholarship and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers Outstanding Student Award.

MarySue Foster, whose family is from Cape Girardeau, has been named executive director of the Women's Center of Dallas.

The Women's Center, a non-profit association, is dedicated to helping improve the quality of life for women. The center has taken a leading role in developing the Rape Crisis Center, Women's Southwest Federal Credit Union, Dallas Women's Coalition, Battered Women's Intervention Project and other program designed to give women the chance to achieve their maximum potential.

Foster, a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, owns two companies -- The Foster Group, who designs and presents programs in management and supervisory training, communication and leadership skills, and Goodmove Incorporated, corporate move planners.

She has been listed in Who's Who in the South and Southwest since 1980.

She has served on the Women's Center volunteer staff since the early 1970s.

Karen L. Haupt, of the respiratory therapy department, at St. Francis Medical Center, has completed the respiratory care curriculum at California College of Health Science.

Haupt is now eligible to take the credentialing examination from the National Board for Respiratory Care.

Bob Banks of Jackson has been elected to a three-year term on the board of directors of the Missouri Professional Auctioneers Association.

Barks and his wife, Claueda, are owners of the Rainbow Auction Co.

The MPAA held its annual convention at Lake of the Ozarks.
