John M. Thompson of Jackson has joined Bank of Missouri as vice president of the Cape Girardeau office, 916 N. Kingshighway. John M. Thompson of Jackson has joined Bank of Missouri as vice president of the Cape Girardeau office, 916 N. Kingshighway.

Thompson, who has more than 20 years of banking and lending experience, assumes his new duties today. He will focus on commercial lending in the Cape Girardeau and Jackson areas.

Thompson, a Jackson native, attended the university of Missouri. He received a marketing degree at Southeast Missouri State University. He is a graduate of the Missouri Bankers Association Commercial Lending School, MBA National School of Real Estate Finance, and the Roger Morris Associates Mentor Program of Commercial Lending.

He is a member of the Cape Girardeau and Jackson chambers of commerce, Cape Girardeau County Board of Realtors, and Southeast Missouri Home Building Association. Most recently, Thompson served as community bank president for NationsBank in Jackson, where he also served as market manager for commercial lending.

Mike Jennewein, human resource manager with Procter & Gamble Paper Products of Cape Girardeau, has been elected to the board of directors of Associated Industries of Missouri, the state's largest manufacturing trade association.

Jennewein, elected during AIM's recent annual meeting in St. Louis, will be responsible for all aspects of the company's human resources, public affairs and governmental relation functions.

"Jennewein will be a strong asset to the board as AIM strives to expand programs aimed at helping our membership compete in a state and national economy," said AIM president Chris Long.

AIM is a 1,500-member business and industry association, headquartered in Jefferson City, whose principal purpose is to represent its membership before the General Assembly, state administrative agencies, the courts and the public.

Eleanor J. Loos has retired from the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, Division of Employment Security.

She retired Sunday after 35 years of service.

Loos joined the Division of Employment Security Nov. 13, 1962, in downtown St. Louis. She transferred to the Cape Girardeau office in August 1977. She left the local office but returned to Cape in 1995.

James L. Trickey has joined Kagmo Electric Motors as head of sales and marketing for national sales.

Trickey will be responsible for sales and marketing of electric motors and power transmission equipment outside of Kagmo's existing service area.

Kagmo was named "Master Distributor" by AJAX/WEG Motor Corporation of North America, as one of five warehousing facilities for the company in the United States.

Trickey and his wife, Tina, returned to the Cape Girardeau area from Vancouver, Wash., where he worked in account sales for 10 years. He is a native of Cape Girardeau and graduate of Southeast Missouri University.

John Ruppert of Cape Giardeau has won a national corporate award from Sodexho, a food and management services firm, for his performance.

Ruppert, Sodexho's account operations manager at Southeast Missouri State University, won "Manager of the Year" honors during Sodexho's annual meeting, held in Orlando, Fla.

Ruppert received a $5,000 award and an engraved plaque, and his employee team was honored during a special party.

Sodexho has more than 20,000 employees working at 1,600 accounts in the fields of business, education land healthcare.

Sonny and Barb Minor, owners of Minor's Harley-Davidson/Suzuki Sales Inc., 905 Enterprise, in Cape Girardeau, were recently awarded a trip to Switzerland, by the Harley-Davidson Motor Co.

The award was an incentive reward for excellence in business management and customer service.

Thomas M. Meyer and Thomas L. Meyer, of Thomas L. Meyer Realtors, recently attended the National Realtors Association's (NRA) annual convention at New Orleans.

More than 20,000 realtors attended the meeting, which featured programs on educational advances, updated Global real estate programs and high-tech in the market place.

Thomas M. Meyer, past president of the Missouri Association of Realtors (MAR), is serving as a national director of the NRA. Thomas L. Meyer is also a past president of the MAR.

Layne Morrill of Kimberly City, Mo. was installed as new NAR president during the New Orleans convention.

Dr. B.L. Ogborn, 37 Doctors' Park in Cape Girardeau, recently attended a seminar and workshop sponsored by Luxar Corporation in Miami, Fla.

The topic of the workshop was the technique for the use of Laser in the removal of lesions in the mouth. Also discussed was a technique for cosmetic skin resurfacing of the face.

Ogborn has added a CO2 laser to his practice, along with the green and yellow laser that is used for vasuclar lesions of the face.

Ogborn is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon.

Raymond Sanders, a tractor-trailer driver for United parcel Service, has been recognized for completing 30 years of safe driving.

Sanders, of Sikeston, works out of the UPS facility at Sikeston.
